INGREDIENTS
For the pancakes
330 ml self raising flour
45 ml cocoa powder
60 ml sugar
pinch of salt
7,5 ml red food colouring
2 TopLay eggs
2,5 ml vanilla essence
5 ml lemon juice
315 ml milk

For the frosting
250 ml milk
1 tub cream cheese (250 g)
80 ml icing sugar
5 ml lemon juice

INSTRUCTIONS

Toplay Red Velvet Pancakes
  1. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, lemon juice, and vanilla essence.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. Over medium heat, grease a pan and spoon the batter into the pan at the desired pancake size. Once bubbles start to form on the surface, flip the pancake to cook the other side.
  5. For the frosting — whisk together the ingredients in a bowl. If you desire to have it more syrupy, add more milk.
  6. Stack the pancakes on a plate and drizzle with the cream cheese syrup.
