RED VELVET PANCAKES — THE PERFECT BREAKFAST SHOWSTOPPER

INGREDIENTS
For the pancakes
330 ml self raising flour
45 ml cocoa powder
60 ml sugar
pinch of salt
7,5 ml red food colouring
2 TopLay eggs
2,5 ml vanilla essence
5 ml lemon juice
315 ml milk
For the frosting
250 ml milk
1 tub cream cheese (250 g)
80 ml icing sugar
5 ml lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS

Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, lemon juice, and vanilla essence.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
- Over medium heat, grease a pan and spoon the batter into the pan at the desired pancake size. Once bubbles start to form on the surface, flip the pancake to cook the other side.
- For the frosting — whisk together the ingredients in a bowl. If you desire to have it more syrupy, add more milk.
- Stack the pancakes on a plate and drizzle with the cream cheese syrup.
