No Bake Milk Tart
Whip up this easy no bake milk tart in no time! This sweet and creamy traditional South African dessert is sure to become a household favourite!
Ingredients
For the crust
- 1 Packet Tennis biscuits
- 120 g Salted butter Melted
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
For the filling
- 42 g Cake flour
- 42 g Cornstarch
- 1 125 ml Milk
- 200 g Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp Salted butter
- Cinnamon for dusting
Instructions
For the crust
- Crush the tennis biscuits until they form crumbs, combine with cinnamon and melted butter to form a crumble.
- Spread the biscuit mixture over the bottom and up the sides of the dish, firmly pressing down. Place the crust in the fridge to harden.
For the filling
- Whisk together 125ml milk, the eggs and vanilla essence.
- Mix the wet ingredients together with the flour, cornstarch and sugar.
- Bring the rest of the milk and butter to a boil over a medium heat.
- Remove the milk from the heat and add some of the hot milk to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
- Over a medium heat, add the egg mixture to the milk and continue whisking until thick.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared crust and dust with cinnamon.
