No Bake Milk Tart
Whip up this easy no bake milk tart in no time! This sweet and creamy traditional South African dessert is sure to become a household favourite!
For the crust
- 1 Packet Tennis biscuits
- 120 g Salted butter Melted
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
For the filling
- 42 g Cake flour
- 42 g Cornstarch
- 1 125 ml Milk
- 200 g Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp Salted butter
- Cinnamon for dusting
For the crust
Crush the tennis biscuits until they form crumbs, combine with cinnamon and melted butter to form a crumble.
Spread the biscuit mixture over the bottom and up the sides of the dish, firmly pressing down. Place the crust in the fridge to harden.
For the filling
Whisk together 125ml milk, the eggs and vanilla essence.
Mix the wet ingredients together with the flour, cornstarch and sugar.
Bring the rest of the milk and butter to a boil over a medium heat.
Remove the milk from the heat and add some of the hot milk to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
Over a medium heat, add the egg mixture to the milk and continue whisking until thick.
Pour the mixture into the prepared crust and dust with cinnamon.
